Aktau Sea Port SEZ implements eight investment projects worth USD 3.2 bln - Governor

"We focus on diversification of economy, attraction of foreign investments in non-primary sector", K. Kusherbayev said.

According to him, special economic zones provide good opportunity to diversify economy. Aktau Sea Port Special Economic Zone was established by the President's Decree in April 2002. Initially, its area was 227 ha. To date its territory has been enlarged to 2, 000 ha. A shipyard as well as a fiberglass and metal pipes plant are successfully functioning here. Currently the SEZ implements eight investment projects amounting to USD 3.2 bln which will ensure twofold rise in productivity of the region's processing industry.

The SEZ territory has all necessary engineering and transport infrastructure which improves its investment attractiveness.
