Aktau holds national dress parade
Around 500 residents of the Mangistau region participated in the national dress parade organized on the eve of Republic Day in Aktau, Kazinform News Agency has learned from the press service of the regional akimat.
Those who elected to showcase the aesthetic appeal and distinctiveness of the national dress included designers, tailors, fashion houses, as well as representatives of prominent institutions and educational organizations, and residents of the regional center. The main purpose is to disseminate knowledge about Kazakh national dress within society, modernizing it in accordance with contemporary requirements and integrating it into the fashion industry.
The event commenced in a distinctive format. Girls and mothers, adorned with national headdresses embellished with owl feathers and traditional Kazakh attire, traveled the city via public transportation, where they brought a good mood to passengers by singing traditional folk songs.

The event included traditional national games such as asyk atu, togyzkumalak, tug of war and qazaq kuresi, the winners of which received special awards.
