Akim of Mangistau region arrives at crash site of Azerbaijan Airlines’ plane
Akim (governor) of the Mangistau region, Nurdaulet Kilybay, has been briefed on the details of the incident and the progress of the rescue efforts, Kazinform News Agency reports.
It is noted that akim of the region gave appropriate instructions to the competent authorities and emphasized that all measures taken will be under his personal control.
Embraer 190 aircraft, traveling from Baku to Grozny crashed 3 kilometers of Aktau.
The plane was carrying 67 people, including five crew members.
According to preliminary information, 37 citizens of Azerbaijan, 6 citizens of Kazakhstan, 3 citizens of Kyrgyzstan, 16 citizens of the Russian Federation were on board.
A total of 52 personnel and 11 units of equipment of the Kazakh Emergencies Ministry rushed to the site. 25 people survived the crash, of which 22 were rushed to hospital.
As earlier reported, a plane crashed today near Aktau, Kazakhstan.
