Akim of Kentau town gets severe reprimand for thermal power plant accident

SHYMKENT. February 7. KAZINFORM /Tatyana Pylayeva/ Nurzhigit Kalmarzayev, akim of Kentau town, South Kazakhstan region, has got a severe reprimand for the accident at the thermal power plant-5.
Some the local officials were dismissed. They are deputy akim of Kentau A. Aldamuratov, chief of housing and communal services department K. Tulepbergenov, director of the thermal power plant-5 N. Kuzhakhmetov.
The cause of the accident, which left about 35 thousand people without heating on Saturday night, will be determined by a special interdepartmental commission. A preliminary inspection showed that the accident occurred due to severe cold snap and disrepair of equipment. The thermal power plant was constructed in 1934.
