«Ak Bulak» State Program at risk of failure

According to Bolat Jamishev, the Minister of Regional Development of Kazakhstan, to follow planned targets, each year in the country should be built 329 water and 137 sanitation projects. However, in 2014 the regional Akimats presented 89 projects.

"These numbers suggest that if the situation of the program implementation stays the same it will not be realized in time. The Ministry considers that data unrealistic, thus, it needs to be corrected. We believe that the adjustments to the program will reach by 2020 those numbers defined in the document", said Bolat Jamishev.

According to "Ak Bulak" program by 2020 it is planned to provide access to centralized services: water supply in urban areas - 100%, in rural areas - 80 %, for sanitation in urban areas — 100%, in rural areas - 20%. For the ptogram realization within 2011-2013 there were allocated KZT 315.1 billion.
