Airbus uses Kazakhstani titanium in construction of its aircrafts - Nazarbayev

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev has put on stream a plant producing titanium ingots and slabs of POSUK Titanium LLP in eastern Kazakhstan during the nationwide teleconference in Astana today, Kazinform correspondent reports.
Ust Kamenogorsk's Titanium Magnesium Plant JSC joined hands with a South Korean partner to realize this project. The plant will produce more than 6 000 tons of titanium ingots and slabs per year that will be used in shipbuilding, oil recovery, energy and chemical industry. "This eco-friendly project is of paramount importance for the entire country. It is one of the kind," said President Nursultan Nazarbayev putting the plant into commission. The Kazakh leader also added that Airbus, the Europe's leading airplane manufacturer, uses titanium produced in Kazakhstan in construction of its aircrafts.
