Aidar Arapov claims bronze at Grand Slam in Astana

Kazakhstani judoka Aidar Arapov has won a bronze medal at the Grand Slam tournament in Astana, Qazinform News Agency reports, citing the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan.
Aidar Arapov took third place in the men’s 90kg weight class. In the bronze medal bout, he confidently defeated Frank de Wit of the Netherlands.
The Kazakh team has claimed 5 medals at the home tournament so far. Earlier, Zhalgas Kayrolla won gold in the 81kg weight division, and Talgat Orynbassar (60kg) took silver.
Sherzod Davlatov (60kg) and Ansarbek Gainullin (73kg) also won bronze medals.
Earlier, it was reported that the opening ceremony of the 2026 Qazaqstan Barysy Grand Slam was held in Astana.
