AIBA Boxing Academy opens doors in Kazakhstan

ALMATY. KAZINFORM - Opening of the AIBA Boxing Academy is a momentous occasion for Kazakhstani boxing, President of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) Dr. Ching-Kuo Wu said at the grand opening of the academy near Almaty.
"Three years ago Mr. Timur Kulibayev [President of the Boxing Federation of Kazakhstan] and I took on this project and today you can see the result. On behalf of AIBA family, I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the construction of the academy," Ching-Kuo Wu noted. "I should never have thought that such a unique training complex for boxers can be built in Kazakhstan. This is a big day for the Kazakhstan Boxing Federation and the world of boxing in general. I hope that Kazakhstani boxing will reach a new high thanks to the academy," Kazakh boxing legend Serik Konakbayev added. The academy is situated in the Talgar region near Almaty in the picturesque foothills of Zailiyskiy Alatau.
