Agriculture assistance for flood-affected residents of Karaganda rgn

KARAGANDA. KAZINFORM - Farmers of Karkaralinsk region of Karaganda region who lost crops and livestock during April's flash floods are beginning to receive assistance.

Houses were flooded in 15 villages of 10 rural districts of Karkaralinsk area. 1,340 residents were quickly evacuated to a safe place. There were victims reported. A special commission has distributed to residents of Toktar and Zharly villages 105 heads of sheep and goats and 4 heads of cattle. "Kazakhmys", "Kentobe" and "Altaypolimetall" companies have sent equipment for restoring roads in the flooded villages. Governor of the region said that special appraisers will arrive from Karaganda city to assess the material damage. Indemnification will be conducted in accordance with the Government Decree number 1358 «On approval of rules of compensation for harm caused by natural disasters."
