Agreement on Turkic Academy establishment approved by Majilis

"This agreement was signed on behalf of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic speaking states. The main objectives of the Turkic Academy are the coordination of research activities, promotion of research made by leading scientists of the Turkic world," said the Minister of Education and Science of Kazakhstan Aslan Sarinzhipov presenting the bill. According to his words, the agreement was inked in the city of Bishkek on August 23, 2012, and ratified by Turkey, Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan. This year the republican budget allocated KZT 390 million for the Turkic Academy, which is 2 times more than in 2013. It should be noted that the Academy has being financed by the countries which had ratified the agreement.
