About 300 people drowned in waters of Kazakhstan in 2014

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Beginning from 2014 in waters of Kazakhstan 291 people have drowned including 81 children, this has been informed by Vladimir Bozhko, Emergency Minister.

Meanwhile beginning from 2014 water rescue service has saved 772 people including 159 children. V. Bozhko also informed that the number of wild fires in Kazakhstan doubled. Property damage from forest fires has doubled and amounted to more than KZT 20 million.There were registered 15 steppe fires on the area of 19 thousand hectares. Material damage from steppe fires amounted to nearly KZT 4 million. The number of steppe fires has increased by 73% in comparison with the same period in 2013.
