ABDULGAZIZ ZHANDERKIN

He was born in Karkaraly town of Karaganda region. He graduated from Almaty Veterinary Institute (now Kazakh National Agrarian University). In 1929-1935 he worked in the planning committees for Karakalpakstan and Kazakhstan. In 1935-1954 he worked at Kazakh Research Institute of Cattle Breeding. In 1954-1955 he was the director and senior methodologist in pavilion of Kazakhstan (All-Soviet Agricultural Exhibition).
In 1955-1960 he was the head of laboratory, director of the institute for Experimental Biology of Kazakhstan's Academy of Science. In 1960-1962 he was the director of the agricultural experience station in Gurev (Atyrau). In 1962-1963 he was the director for the exhibition of economic achievements of Kazakhstan. In 1963-1978 he was the head of the cattle breeding genetics laboratory. In 1978-1983 he was the adviser to the Experimental Biological Institute of Kazakhstan's Academy of Science.
He made a great contribution to the development of cattle breeding in Kazakhstan. Together with a group of scientists he was awarded with the State Award of the Kazakh SSR for rising of Kazakhs Ovis Ammon (wild sheep). He is the author of several book on cattle breeding published in 1950-1964.
He was awarded with the Badge of Honor and several medals.
