Abandoned cemetery found in Astana

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Ten graves are preserved, and last burial was made more than 90 years ago, according to Кazpravda.kz.
"This spring during the snowmelt, an abandoned Muslim cemetery was found near Taldykol pond. 10 preserved graves were discovered at the burial grounds, " - said deputy chairman of the department of Astana municipal economy department Timur Abizhanov.
The last burial was made in 1923 and the cemetery takes up about 160 square meters, he specified.
The future of the cemetery and landscaping options of the site are under consideration, as in its vicinity, Taldykol pond is under liquidation, Abizhanov added.
