Abai Kunanbayev's 'Words of Edification' and 'Aisha-Bibi' play performed in Warsaw
TARAZ. June 15. KAZINFORM — Polsky Theatre in Warsaw – the Poland capital, has performed "Words of edification" by Abai Kunanbayev, which was for the first time translated into Polish, the press service of akim of Zhambyl region reports.
According to Henryk Jankowski, a translator and a teacher of language arts of the A. Mickiewicz Poznan University, he began translating the philosophical legacy of the great Kazakh enlightener Abai Kunanbayev with the help of students who have studied the source through the slides in the audience. The students asked why the "Words of edification" by Abai Kunanbayev were translated into so many languages except for the Polish one.
For the recognition of the scientist, he found a number of inconsistencies in the translations into Russian and Arabic and tried to fix them.
The book was published by the international company - NomadeInvestment LTD, and sponsored by Bakhytbek Baiseitova, the head of Grupa BRB Invest.
In the Polsky theater there was also held a premiere of "Aisha-Bibi" in the Kazakh language. The play directed by Alia Baimahanova and acting troupe of the Zhambyl Kazakh Drama Theater offered the audiences a modern interpretation of the famous story about the light love story of Aisha-Bibi and Karahan Khan. The Polish public has received the performance encore.
NOTE: The polish capital – Warsaw is hosting the Days of Culture of Zhambyl region within June 10-14. Warsaw citizens are having the opportunity to acquaint with art, folk traditions and customs of Kazakhstan. A solemn Mass on the occasion of transfer of the funeral urn containing the ashes of Polish soldiers buried in the Zhambyl region took place these days.
