The Mayor told the Head of the State that despite the crisis Almaty was still attractive for investments. The assessment of FITCH International Rating Agency that affirmed BB+ investment rating of the city proves this fact. "The Road Map and the municipal Anti-Crisis Programs that have been implemented since the last year played an important role in stabilization of the economy of the city. We are the only region in the country that formed its budget as anti-crisis measures. Almost all public purchases of goods, works and services were demanding creation of new jobs, full payment of taxes and high level of the Kazakh content. Total financing of the anti-crisis measures taking into account the Road Map made up to KZT 132.4 bln last year", the Mayor said.

"The implementation of these antirecessionary measures allowed to minimize the impact of the crisis on the economy of the city and had a positive impact on business recovery. Thus, the rates of industrial production, investments to the fixed capital and construction works were increased in the last quarter of 2009. Essential growth of the wholesale turnover was achieved and retail trade decline rates were reduced. Registered unemployment level was stabilized", A.Yessimov said.
