A.Shayakhmetova, survivor of AN-2 crash, successfully underwent 5 surgeries

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Doctors of the city hospital No.1 of Astana successfully performed 5 surgeries to help Assem Shayakhmetova, the only survivor of the AN-2 plane crash, the Ministry of Healthcare and Social Development of Kazakhstan informs.

In particular, one operation was performed on January 27 and on January 29 A. Shayakhmetova underwent 4 more surgeries. Presently, she is in the intensive care unit. The state of the patient is moderately severe, but stable. Assem will need more surgeries and intensive care for recovery. As earlier reported, Assem Shayakhmetova was taken to the hospital of Shu town after the crash of the AN-2 plane in Zhambyl region. When she was taken to hospital, she was reported to be in critical condition. On January 21, 3 doctors from Astana and 2 doctors from Taraz arrived in Shu to determine the treatment methods. During the consultation it was decided to take the patient to the capital city. On January 22, Assem was taken to Astana for undergoing all the necessary treatment in the city hospital No.1.
