A/H1N1 influenza cases rise to 14 in Myanmar

The 17-year-old youth arrived back from Singapore by Flight No.MI-518 on Aug. 1 but was transferred to special hospitals after he was found ill.

He was confirmed by the National Health Laboratory to have been infected with A/H1N1 virus.

A total of 122 passengers and 138 airport staff are under surveillance and 18 family members of the patient are kept under home quarantine, the sources said.

Of Myanmar's 14 flu patients so far, nine have recovered and were discharged from hospital, the sources added; Kazinform refers to China View.
