96.1 percent of areas under grain crops harvested in Kazakhstan

ASTANA. October 18. KAZINFORM - As of October 18 of this year, agricultural producers harvested more than 15 million hectares of crops accounting for 96.1% of all areas under crops across the country, the web-site of the Prime Minister reports.
"According to the regional departments of agriculture, as of 18 October 2013 agricultural producers harvested 15,136,200 ha, or 96.1% of the area under crops," the Kazakh Ministry of Agriculture said.
20 million tons of grain has already been harvested. The average crop yield is 13.2 centners per hectare. In 2012, the average crop yield was 8.4 centners per hectare.
The harvest was fully finished in Zhambyl, Kyzylorda, West Kazakhstan, Kostanay and East Kazakhstan regions.
