80% of foreign direct investment in Central Asian region accrues to Kazakhstan
That has been reported today in Baku at the meeting of the World Economic Forum titled "Strategic Dialogue on the Future of the South Caucasus and Central Asia" by the Kazakh First Deputy Prime-Minister, the Minister of Regional Development Bakhytzhan Sagintayev.
"Unemployment in Kazakhstan in recent years has been steady, not exceeding 5.5%," said B.Sagintayev.
"According to the experts, Kazakhstan is one of the most attractive countries for investments among CIS. Since 1993 foreign direct investment raised to more than $ 160 billion, " informed B.Sagintayev.
"The success of the country is also evidenced by the World Economic Forum rating, in which Kazakhstan ranked 51st in the Global Competitiveness Index, moving within the year to 21 place in the group of countries with a higher level of development. A new stage of world development, associated with innovation, the latest knowledge and technology needs modernization of the country economic foundation. In this regard, beginning from 2010 the Program of Forced Industrial Development of the country, aimed to diversification of the national economy has been implemented, " said B.Sagintayev.
