ASTANA. February 16. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ More than 70 schools are planned to be built in Kazakhstan this year. Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Massimov said it at the meeting devoted to the issues of the position of the Nur Otan Party's faction in the Majilis regarding the amendments to the national budget for 2011-2013.
"It is planned to allocate additional KZT 20 bln for realization of the Education Program in 2011, including KZT 11.7 bln for construction of 24 more educational institutions. President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev personally gave such instructions," the Premier said.
He also reminded that the President set the task in his annual Address to the Nation to build 400 more schools, including 200 ones funded from the national budget and 200 at the expense of the local budgets.
"Thus, 212 additional schools will be constructed till 2016 to the addition of the approved budget," K. Massimov emphasized.
