68 000 drivers prosecuted for traffic rule violation in Pavlodar

PAVLODAR. December 21. KAZINFORM - For violation of traffic rules in Pavlodar region have been prosecuted more than 68,000 offenders, including driving while intoxicated - more than 3 500 drivers, the press service of the Internal Affairs Department.
This year, the region has recorded 981 road traffic accidents, 92 people were killed and 1344 are left injured. Analysis of the causes of accidents shows that one of the causes of accidents is low level of discipline of road users, especially drivers.
In order to reduce road accidents, police are taking operative-preventive measures and actions. Due to the deteriorating weather conditions (ice, snow storm), traffic police officers have raised awareness with drivers handing them a "memo" with a brief but convincing statistics on road traffic accidents and materials to comply with preventive character of the road traffic rules.
Traffic police are hoping that the information about the accident will cause drivers to be careful on the roads.
