60 bilateral documents between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan form legal basis for cooperation

KAZINFORM /Aigul Turysbekova/ All the documents signed between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan prove that our cooperation develops dynamically and steadily, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said during the negotiations with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev on Thursday in Almaty.

"Our two countries have common roots; we belong to the Turkic world. We have similar language, culture and traditions. All these advantages should be used for our cooperation," the Kazakh leader emphasized.

According to him, Azerbaijani Diaspora in Kazakhstan counts 130 thousand people. "This is a good bridge for our cooperation. The Azerbaijanis have contributed to the development of independent Kazakhstan and actively participate in all spheres of our society. Thus, there is a basis for cooperation," Nazarbayev noted.

Nursultan Nazarbayev stressed that the two countries maintain regular contacts within the framework of international organizations as UN, OSCE, CICA. "We keep a common stance on the strengthening of the UN role in the issues of war and peace. We stand for the development of cooperation with the European Union. We are for continuation of mutually beneficial cooperation and integration in the CIS space," he added.

"I think these talks will give a new impulse to our relations," Nazarbayev concluded.
