6+5 format historical meeting of SCO National Coordinators Council with SCO Observer States reps held

ASTANA. KAZINFORM On April 26, 2014 for the first time in the history of the SCO a meeting of the Council of National Coordinators of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization with appointed representatives of the SCO Observer States in 6+5 format took place in Beijing.

During the meeting the representatives of the member-states, the Secretariat and Executive Committee of Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of the SCO expressed their intention to further cooperation with the Organization's Observer States. They have also outlined that such interaction shall facilitate the extension of the SCO potential, increase the efficiency of Organization's work and serve the interests of the member-states, the Kazakh MFA's press service said.

In their turn, the representatives of the Observer States have also expressed their interest in activization of their participation in the SCO activities on different levels.

The Kazakh delegation was headed by Shahrat Nuryshev, the National Coordinator of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the SCO, Ambassador-at-large of the MFA.

In his speech the head of the Kazakh delegation outlined the possibility of creating a number of joint cooperation committees.
