5yrs imprisonment for stealing a herd of horses

AKTOBE. August 20. KAZINFORM Hromtau District Court has considered the criminal case against a resident of Aktobe, who was accused of stealing cattle.
From the materials of the criminal case it follows that in May 2011 the Aktobe habitant, being part of a group, stole 14 horses from Amanat farm, located at Tassay of Aksai rural district.
The horses were brought to one of the private houses in Aktobe, where they were slaughtered and the meat was sold.
As a result of the criminal acts the farmer's household had suffered material damage amounting to about KZT 3 mln.
The court found the Aktobe man guilty of an offense under subsection "B" of Part 3 of Art. 175 of the Criminal Code, and he was sentenced to five years of imprisonment in a penal colony with confiscation of property.
