500 mln-year-old shellfish on display in Aktau

AKTAU. KAZINFORM An exhibition featuring shellfish some of them up to 500 mln years old has for the first time opened at the Mangystau local history museum.
60 mln years ago Mangystau was the seabed so the exhibition showcases now the remnants of corals, fossil sponges, ark shells, moss animals, lamp shells, shells of bivalve gasteropoda and cuttlefish. The items presented there are estimated to be 300-500 mln years old.
