5 killed in bomb attack near voting center in Baghdad

BAGHDAD. March 4. KAZINFORM At least five people were killed and 22 others injured in a roadside bomb explosion close to a polling center in northern Baghdad Thursday, an Interior Ministry source said, Kazinform refers to Xinhua.
The blast took place in the Hurriyah neighborhood when a roadside bomb detonated near a polling center that will be used on Sunday general elections, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
The powerful blast caused severe damages to nearby houses and buildings in the densely populated neighborhood, the source said.
The attack came at the day of special voting as more than 800, 000 Iraqi soldiers, police, doctors, patients, hospital staff and prisoners are expected to take part in the country's early voting ahead of Sunday's general elections, Kazinform cites Xinhua. See www.xinhuanet.com for full version.
