$ 5.5 bln to be attracted from IFIs for roads construction under Nurly Zhol program

"Nurly Zhol program provides for implementation of 11 projects related to the construction of highways. In particular, the completion of the construction of Western Europe-Western China road including the following roads: Center-South, Center-East, Center-West, Almaty-Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kyzylorda-Zhezkazgan-Karaganda, Astana-Petropavlovsk, Uralsk-Kamenka, South -Western bypass of Astana, Aktobe, Atyrau-Astrakhan, Zhetybai-Zhanaozen and Usharal-Dostyk. Total cost of the projects equals KZT 2.4 trillion. It is planned to reconstruct more than 7,000 kilometers of roads," said A.Bekov. According to his words, the National Fund has allocated KZT 301 billion for the implementation of these projects within 2015-2016. Additionally it is planned to attract loans from international financial institutions - about KZT 1 trillion or $ 5.5 billion. The Ministry informed that 12 agreements on loans will be signed before the end of the year.
