5.1 magnitude earthquake hits New Zealand's North Island

WELLINGTON. July 13. KAZINFORM An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale struck a remote area of the East Cape of New Zealand's North Island on Monday, the GNS Science said; Kazinform refers to Xinhua.

The quake occurred just after 11:00 a.m. local time (23:00 GMT Sunday). It was centered 90 km north of Te Araroa, which is 10 km southeast of Hicks Bay, and 30 km deep, the New Zealand Institute of Geological and Nuclear Sciences reported.

There were no reports of any damage or injuries; Kazinform cites Xinhua.
