5,000 open heart surgeries performed in Kazakhstan

ASTANA. October 7. KAZINFORM /Askar Bimendin/ "4,912 open heart surgeries were performed in Kazakhstan for the past 8 months of 2011," Kazakh Healthcare Minister Salidat Kairbekova told the international congress on innovation technologies and medical progress, VII congress of Eurasian Respiratory Society, dated to the 10th anniversary of the national scientific medical centre in Astana.
According to the Minister, Kazakhstan healthcare spending increased more than tenfold for the years of independence that let strengthen material and technical base and build 500 new healthcare facilities, purchase medical devices to the amount of KZT 75 bln. 123 out of 400 approved medical developments are being successfully implemented the countrywide.
