In commemoration of the Republic Day festivities and as part of the Taza (Clean) Qazaqstan campaign, a tree planting initiative along the embankment of Lake Kopa has been conducted in the Akmola region, Kazinform News Agency has learned from the regional akimat.

The event was attended by Marat Akhmetzhanov, akim of the region, who, together with forestry workers and other participants, planted approximately 400 saplings and 1,500 seedlings. The assortment of flora included pine, poplar, maple, hawthorn, willow, and other species that will integrate harmoniously into the local ecosystem and enhance the aesthetic appeal of the green zone.

Akim of the Akmola region underscored the significance of maintaining and expanding green spaces.
“The planting of trees is not only about a green space expansion, but also a contribution to our common future. By improving the climate and enhancing our region’s beauty, we create a favorable environment for future children and grandchildren. Today's event attracted experienced specialists, such as a landscape designer and a forest pathologist, who will assist in proper selection and planting of trees, thereby ensuring better acclimatization of plants,” Marat Akhmetzhanov said.

Particular attention was paid to the selection of seedlings, which will facilitate the acclimatization of trees and shrubs in the region's conditions. Forestry professionals who participated in the event monitored the planting technology to guarantee that each tree was planted in accordance with the necessary conditions for successful growth.
