ASTANA. October 10. KAZINFORM About 4.7 billion tenge will be allocated for the construction of sports and recreation centers in the countryside in 2014, Chairman of the Kazakh Agency for Sports and Physical Culture Yerlan Kozhagapanov stated at a meeting of the republican social council on the development of sports and physical education, Kazinform refers to primeminister.kz.
70% of funds will be allocated from the national budget, 30% - from local budgets. "Sports and recreation centers in the countryside will cover existing deficit of sports facilities, will become the venue for various gatherings, sporting and cultural events, since about 70% of our champions come from the village," he said.
According to him, at present, the total demand for sports facilities in the country is 1 million 334 thousand square meters.
As is known, the President of Kazakhstan instructed to increase the number of Kazakhstanis regularly engaged in physical culture and sports to 30% by 2020. Today, the figure is 21.6%.
