36 students injured in road mishap in India

NEW DELHI. May 11. KAZINFORM Thirty-six students were injured in a major road mishap in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, a senior police official said; Kazinform refers to Xinhua.

"The mishap took place in the state's Ambedkar Nagar district when the school bus in which some 45 students were traveling skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge. The injured have been rushed to a local hospital where the condition of six are said to be serious. The remaining students escaped unhurt," the official said.
A case of negligent driving has been lodged against the driver of the bus who has fled the spot, the official said, adding that a probe has been ordered into the incident; Kazinform cites Xinhua.
