32 schools, 8 healthcare facilities put into operation over years of Astana development

24 public kindergartens for 5360 children and 28 private kindergartens have been built during the last two years within implementation of the Balapan program. 12 vocational and technical education facilities were also built over these years.
Eight healthcare facilities including a multi-disciplinary hospital, perinatal center, four large outpatient complexes for 500 visits per shift, maternity hospital, hospital, blood center and oncology hospital have been put into operation since 2005.
The financing under the state order for free services and preferential supply of drugs has increased 2.5 times since 2007. KZT 2.2 billion was allocated for these purposes in 2011.
The number of unemployed people has reduced more than two times since 1997 and made 6.3% of the economically active population. The unemployment rate dropped from 8% to 2%.
The average monthly salary in Astana has increased more than 10 times from KZT 9.8 thousand to KZT 110.8 thousand since 1997. The average per capita income increased from KZT 14.3 thousand to KZT 73.8 thousand or more than 5 times over the last 10 years. The level of subsistence minimum made KZT 16.3 thousand in 2010. The share of people with the income below the subsistence minimum reduced from 11.6% in 2000 to 3.4% in 2010.
