3 underground crosswalks to be built in Astana in 2014

These underground crosswalks will be located in Republic avenue, Momyshuly avenue (near the Schoolchildren’s Palace) and in Syganak street.

“25 underground crosswalks should be built in the city; this year we’ve implemented a project near Khan Shatyr, 5 underground crosswalks are being designed without traffic blocking. As you know, we have very narrow streets full with utility networks, that is why we are working on new technologies for traffic blocking. Next year we will start construction of 3 underground crosswalks upon condition of financial support”, - the head of the metropolitan Administration of passenger transport and motor roads Rashid Amanzhulov told astana.kz. Recall that currently there are 6 underground crosswalks in the capital: in Bogenbai batyr avenue (municipal market “Shapagat”), Kenesary street (“Congress-Hall”), Republic avenue (“Samal” microdistrict), Barayev st. (“Ramstor”), Orynbor st. (Triumphal arch), Turan av. (“Khan Shatyr” shopping mall).
