NAGANO. KAZINFORM Three more bodies were found Tuesday on Mt. Ontake in central Japan as a search resumed for the first time in three days following the deadly volcanic eruption there, bringing the official death toll to 54.
The bodies were found near the 3,067-meter peak, a source involved in the search said. Before the day's search by about 1,000 police officers, firefighters and Ground Self-Defense Force personnel began, 12 people were believed to be still missing, Kyodo reports.
