3 mln people engaged in trade in Kazakhstan – MIT RK

"About 25 percent of population in Kazakhstan is engaged in trade, trade enterprises, i.e. 3 mln people. This is an economically active population", - he underlined.

He also noted that despite the reduce of retail turnover by 10.8 percent the growth can be observed during last nine months of the current year against the same period of the past year. "The retail turnover in September against August has increased by 4 percent. This is a positive fact as a whole and we hope that the fourth quarter will have faster paces", - he informed.

According to him this was caused by the anti-recessionary measures taken by the Government as well as implementation of issues of the Kazakhstan's content. The wholesale turnover has no significant changes. During last nine months it has reduced by 7.8 percent against the same period of the last year and amounted to KZT 4 trln.
