26 school leavers received educational grants – Astana city

ANA. September 16. KAZINFORM /Damir Baimanov/ Deputy Mayor of Astana city Amerkhan Rakhimzhanov has presented educational grants to 26 school leavers today in Astana.

Among them are the children with disabilities, those deprived of parental care, children from large families including foster children. The total sum of the grants amounted to KZT 6.7 mln.

Six school leavers entered the Gumilyev Eurasian National University, whereas 4 children entered the Kazakh Agro-Technical University, 11 ones - the Kazakh University of Economy, Finance and International Trade, 4 - Astana Medical University and 1 school leaver entered the Eurasian Institute of Humanities.

"As you know the grants are allotted to our best school leavers. Today 26 school leavers have received grants. I hope that some of you will become outstanding scientists, heads and economists to contribute to the development of your city and country as a whole", - A. Rakhimzhanov said.

According to the press-service of the Akimat KZT 23.8 mln was allocated from the national budget for 2009-2010 as a whole. This will let 99 students from poverty-stricken and socially protected categories of citizens receive higher education. Among them 13 people are with disabilities, 13 - foster children and children deprived of parental care including 55 children from large families.
