25th FIC sitting kicks off in Astana
The FIC under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan was established by the Head of State in 1998 in order to ensure the direct dialogue with foreign investors working in Kazakhstan and solve pressing issues relating to the investment activity and investment climate.
The Council is a consultative body chaired by the President of Kazakhstan.
Permanent members of the Council on the part of Kazakhstan are Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, foreign affairs, industry and new technologies, economic development and trade, finance ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Chairman of the Committee for Investments of the Industry and New Technologies Ministry of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The FIC composition is made up of heads of international financial organizations and international companies.
Representatives of companies and organizations who are not featured into the FIC composition may be invited to its seating. Five joint working groups on taxation, legislation, current activity of foreign investors, improvement of Kazakhstan's investment image and oil and gas sector operate within the FIC.
The FIC sessions are held at least twice a year.
