24,500 additional seats to be opened in kindergartens by yearend - Kazakh Education Minister

sp;ASTANA. November 21. KAZINFORM. By the end of the year 24,500 additional seats in kindergartens will be opened in Kazakhstan. Kazakh Minister of Education and Science Zhanseit Tuimebayev has said it at the Government's telephone conference chaired by the Prime Minister today; Kazinform refers to the Premier's press service.

The Minister of Education, Deputy Akim of Astana and Deputy Akim of Almaty presented their reports on the issues of development of the network of preschool institutions.

Minister Tuimebayev informed that 74,300 seats in kindergartens will be opened in 2010.

As for the medium-term measures the Ministry proposed to develop a schedule of commissioning of preschool institutions at the expense of state and private investments for 2010-2015. It was also decided that the state bodies should vacate the buildings of former kindergartens.

Akim of Astana S. Khoroshun reported that 9 kindergartens would be put into operation by the end of 2009.

Having listened to all the reports the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan gave a number of instructions to the akimats and the Ministry of Education and Science.
