2024 Olympic Games: 20 sets of medals to be awarded July 31

Today, July 31, the medal winners in eleven sports, including swimming, diving, fencing, artistic gymnastics, canoe slalom, cycling BMX freestyle, rowing, shooting, sailing and triathlon will be announced, Kazinform News Agency reports.

Three athletes, including Ekaterina Shabalina in Triathlon Women's Individual, Mariya Dmitriyenko in Trap Women's Qualification, Karimi Milad in Artistic Gymnastics Men's All-Around Final, will represent Kazakhstan in their respective events in Paris.

To date, Kazakhstan has collected three medals at the 33rd Summer Olympics Games in Paris. 

Kazakhstan’s Alexandra Le and Islam Satpayev won bronze in the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team competition. 

31-year-old Yeldos Smetov claimed Kazakhstan’s first gold medal in judo. Smetov, who competed in men's 60kg, defeated French Luka Mkheidze, bronze medalist of 2020 Tokyo Games, on points. This is Yeldos Smetov's first Olympic gold. He won silver at the 2016 Rio Olympics and bronze at the 2020 Tokyo Games. 

Judoka Gusman Kyrgyzbayev claimed bronze medal of the 2024 Olympic Games on July 28. He defeated Strahinja Bunčić from Serbia in men’s 66kg.

The 2024 Olympic Games in Paris is set to run from July 26 through August 11. The Games brought together 10,500 athletes from 206 national Olympic committees. Kazakhstan is represented by 80 athletes in 25 sports.
