20 pharmaceutical enterprises to be built within Industrialization Map

ASTANA. April 5. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan is taking measures to satisfy 50 percent of the country's pharmaceutical needs by 2014 by means of domestic production, the press service of the Ministry of Healthcare of Kazakhstan informs.

According to the Kazakh Prime Minister's website pm.kz, it is planned to build 20 pharmaceutical enterprises and modernize the existing productions within the Industrialization Map. 6 investment projects were implemented in 2010 and 6 - in 2011. 17 investment projects are planned to be carried out in the coming three years.

In addition, the work on introduction of the international standards of quality at enterprises of pharmaceutical industry 'Good Manufacturing Practice' (GMP) is carried out. GMP certificates were issued to two domestic pharmaceutical productions in 2011. These are JSC 'Nobel AFF', JSC 'Chimpharm'.

Besides, the conditions for replacing of imported pharmaceuticals and medical products were created in the country. LLP SK Pharmacy signed long term agreements with 12 domestic pharmaceutical productions (JSC 'Chimpharm', JSC 'Nobel AFF', LLP 'Global New Life', LLP 'Karaganda pharmaceutical complex', LLP 'Pavlodar pharmaceutical factory', LLP 'Pharmaceutical company 'Romat', LLP Brando, LLP 'Medical Farm' Cha-Cours', LLP 'BiruniFarm', LLP 'Super Farm', LLP 'Almerik', LLP 'Dolce'). In 2011, the public procurement of medical equipment from domestic manufacturers was organized and a concept on further development of medical equipment leasing was developed.

'These measures will allow to meet 50 percent of the country's pharmaceutical needs by means of domestic production of the medications by 2014,' the statement of the Ministry reads.
