2 innovative clusters being formed in Kazakhstan - Nazarbayev

The Almaty-hosted event brought together investors, representatives of national companies and educational institutions and international experts. "We need to create the knowledge-based economy in the long term. Innovations should boost labor efficiency dramatically. The country has been successfully stimulating the growth of innovations recently. Over the past five years Kazakhstan's expenditures connected with research and development have grown from 49 to 74 billion tenge," President Nazarbayev stressed. The Head of State also reminded of two innovative clusters that are being formed on the basis of Nazarbayev University in Astana and in Almaty. The Almaty cluster will consolidate intellectual resources, the best international technologies and private investments.
