NEW DELHI. October 9. KAZINFORM At least two persons were injured and some others feared trapped under the debris of a 150-year-old residential building which collapsed in the Indian capital Wednesday, a senior police official said.
"The building collapsed like a pack of cards at Azad Maidan Market locality in the north of the national capital at 8 a.m. ( local time). While two injured persons have been rescued by fire brigade officials and rushed to a nearby hospital, search is on to bring out some others feared trapped under the debris," he said, on condition of anonymity.
A probe has been ordered into the incident, the official added, Xinhua reports.
Building collapses are common in India because of poor construction practices.
Last Friday, more than 61 people were killed in a similar building collapse in Mumbai.
