1st Vice Premier suggested upending atomic power station construction issues

ASTANA. March 13. KAZINFORM At today's Government meeting in Astana 1st Vice Premier of Kazakhstan Serik Akhmetov has suggested settling this year all issues concerning the construction of an atomic power plant.

"According to the electrical power system development program the atomic power plant energy should make 4.5% of the total electric power generated in the country. Therefore, we have to settle this issue this year," Akhmetov said.

As Industry and New Technologies Minister Aset Issekeshev told after the meeting, Kazakhstan has not yet made a decision on the atomic power plant construction, though the country hasn't refuse nuclear power.
