1st internat'l forum of ethnic media opened in Astana

The event is being attended by journalism and academia, MPs, members of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, representatives of diplomatic missions in Kazakhstan, and foreign experts.

A welcoming speech to the participants of the forum was made by the deputy head of the Presidential Administration Baghlan Mailybaev.

In particular, he stressed that the ethnic and religious harmony are the main assets of our country. These principles are reflected in the Strategy named "Kazakhstan -2050", which was launched by President Nursultan Nazarbayev.

Also at the forum there was a solemn opening of the exhibition titled "Koryo Ilbo" is 90". The exposition presented archival materials of Korean publications on its birthday. "For 18 years the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan has become one of the leading members of political, social and cultural life of the country. In its work one of the most important aspects is the correct and detailed coverage of ethnic policy of the state, active participation of the population in the media space activity. And here the main role is played by ethnic media", said in his speech the deputy of the Majilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the Association of Koreans in Kazakhstan Roman Kim.

The forum will also feature panel discussions on promotion of peace and harmony in the media.
