14 Killed in China Mosque Stampede

BEIJING. January 6. KAZINFORM - Fourteen people have died after a stampede at a mosque in northern China, ria Novosti reports referring to a Chinese state news agency.
The incident occurred Sunday afternoon at the mosque in Guyuan, a city in the Ningxia region, the Xinhua News Agency said. It said people at the mosque were handing out traditional cakes during an event to commemorate a religious figure. Another 10 people were hospitalized, four of them in critical condition, Xinhua said. Ningxia is the home of China's Muslim Hui ethnic minority.
