132 steppe fires recorded in Kazakhstan since the beginning of this year

ASTANA. April 9. KAZINFORM "132 steppe fires occurred this year in Kazakhstan," said Kazakh Emergencies Minister Vladimir Bozhko at the Government meeting.
According to him, 57 fires occurred in Almaty region, 16 - in East Kazakhstan region, 25 - in Pavlodar region and 8- in South Kazakhstan region, including 1-2 fires in others regions.
The Kazakh Minister noted that 465 forest and 130 steppe fires were registered last year, material damage reached KZT 223 million. The Ministry has worked the forest and steppe fires prevention plan for 2012.
