13 regions to brace for ground blizzards, snowstorms

Storm alert was issued for 13 regions for December 31, Kazinform News Agency reports citing Kazhydromet.
Ice-slick and snowstorms are in store for Ulytau, Abai, Karaganda, and East Kazakhstan regions. Ground blizzards are set to sweep through North Kazakhstan, snowstorms will hit Pavlodar region.
Fog is forecast to blanket Mangistau, Kostanay, Atyrau and Kyzylorda regions. Fog and ice-slick are predicted to batter west Kazakhstan. Ice-slick will grip Kyzylorda region.
On December 31-January 2 high wind will roll through Alakol Lakes in Zhetysu region.
