124 new schools with 43 thousand seats opened in Kazakhstan in 2013

ASTANA. January 15. KAZINFORM "As of January 1, 2014, 124 new schools having in total 43,700 seats have been put into operation in Kazakhstan," Vice Minister of Education and Science Yessengazy Imangaliyev has said today at a press conference.
According to him, 58 new schools were built instead of emergency and worn schools, 20 were built to eliminate the 3-shift schedule at schools, 40 - in order to cover the shortage of seats, and 6 schools were built taking into account the demographic growth of the population, the primeminister.kz reports.
According to the Vice Minister, construction of 44 educational institutions was financed from the national budget, 80 - from the local budget.
Totally, in 2013-2014 academic year the network of secondary education institutions in Kazakhstan includes 7683 institutions and more than 2.5 million students.
However, 112 three-shift schools still function in Almaty, South Kazakhstan, Mangystau regions and Astana city.
