$108 bln of direct foreign investments attracted to Kazakh economy - President

ASTANA. May 25. KAZINFORM /Rassul Bakhamov/ A total of USD 108 billion of direct foreign investments was attracted to Kazakhstan's economy. This is more than 80% of the total amount of investments to the economies of Central Asia. President Nursultan Nazarbayev has made it public at the Kazakh-Turkish Business Forum in Astana today.
According to the Head of the State, in recent years the economy growth has made about 10% annually. At the same time GDP per capita increased from 400 to 8 000 US dollars. Amid the global financial crisis Kazakhstan's effective anti-crisis measures helped prevent a recession. The Kazakh economy showed 7.1% growth.
Besides, N. Nazarbayev appraised the results of the Kazakh-Turkish trade-economic cooperation.
